About Us

CEDT works towards realising the rights of communities by empowering communities through the provision of knowledge and through the process of participatory planning. Some of CEDT’s activities include Community/GIS mapping, developing land rights documentation, community strengthening, providing technical advice and coaching, opening up positive dialogue between community members and the government authorities, and achieving sustainable solutions.

Programmes: CEDT works to achieve its mission through four programmes – 1) Community Mapping, Planning and Upgrading Programme (CMPUP), 2) Community Participation in Local Governance (CPLG), 3) Community Development and Environment Programme (CDEP) and 4) Community Research and Documentation Programme (CRDP).
